Rick Reilly's Trump on golf book is getting some play in the media, which pains me because it distracts us from the more pressing fact that Reilly's lazy writing game is much worse than Trump's golf game

I'm not sure he even understands a single sport. His pieces are what one might call "sceners" or "dad joke anecdotes" but he doesn't even execute those safe 500-word thumbsuckers in a halfway skillful manner
I read him on the "back page" when I was growing up, and even then, a voice in my hand was like..."Is this journalism? Is this writing? Or is it just typing?"
