I like when you meet a "professional kid," one of those groomed-from-birth, upper-middle class trophy objects w/ fluency in strategic languages, skill on various instruments, a tutor-perfect GPA, "test extension" privileges, and numerous short, medium, and long-term life plans

These kids are either going to end up as your boss or as some anxiety-riddled sosadtoday type hunkered down in a rat hole of an apartment, interning for zero money as they (and their parents' bank transfers) pursue the life of a "creative" at the expense of the underrepresented

as one of those kids, I can confirm that about half turned out exactly as planned and the other half had nervous breakdowns by age 25
