You meet so many people in these "fields" who are just hopping from state to state, chasing "hot" and "now" experiences, and you wonder how it's all possible. What can it even mean?

I wonder what portion of the "creative" world consists of rich thirtysomething perma-"kids" working for peanuts or "exposure," while the underrepresented remain just that ?

Depends. Creatives at big ad agencies get paid quite handsomely. Creatives that are much more junior than me get paid a lot more than I do as a senior strategist.

What percentage of that world is reasonably well connected upper middle class kids? Several kids from my HS wound up in the "ad world," all party boys who wore the salmon shorts (5.5") and front tucked their polos
