I still think I might want to try writing someday but the fact that I absolutely don't *have* to--in fact it would be a very foolish career step--helps a lot, I think

I can pay all my non-mortgage expenses off the writing. Food, fun, etc. I honestly like that it helps that way. And my wife and I can apply our salaries toward saving for the final days of this hellworld, when that currency will have no value
