difficult to predict imho; will depend heavily on personal circumstances I suspect. after all, Offline, a lot of views I consider to be pretty tepid are almost completely verboten

That's absolutely right. A lot of the "discourse" on here is never heard outside of the thick skull that protects the twitterbrain. I've never actually even discussed politics with co-workers or most relatives and have no idea what they might be besides "getting a new porch"

I'm quite easy to find on here, since the account is tied to my name, but no one at my fortune 200 employer has ever bothered to look me up...and they won't, so long as I keep doing the work. It was a different story when I was a professor, as I was considered "controversial"
