We condemn celebrities who make up stories to get attention but that ish happens hundreds of thousands of times a day on social media, whether it is dad bloggers lying to tell the perfect cutie pie joke or people looking for attention claiming they had a negative interaction

Meanwhile, billions of people are harassed in silence, all kinds of weird stuff passes unnoticed and because it doesn't fit into a punchline, etc. But we rush to believe a lot of this "I'll take that shit never happened for $200, Alex" nonsense because it serves some purpose

I wish more people had grown up in the used car sales / pure grifting world, as I did, bc the initial early disillusionment is like a vaccine that prevents you from believing any of these status seeking liars (because nearly everybody is doing this, on one level or another)
