I don't touch these topics because I stay completely in my lane, although everyone involved with these efforts has my full support. But I'm not looking to sell $200 hot takes (taking them underrepresented folks who should be sharing their opinions) or build klout from it

Speaking for people perfectly capable of speaking for themselves in order to build one's little online hustle, rather than actually forsaking that hustle and saying "I have your back, but this work belongs to you" is just continuing a proud tradition of profit via appropriation

Mitchell Sunderland feeding misogynistic intel to Milo while running Broadly was maybe the perfect example of how the way this kind of sausage is made at these lower levels, but the problem is systemic, esp if you've heard how cynical some freelancers are about their work
