the passing of time makes it harder to keep up with various subjects. music went about a decade ago, around the time the snark was going out of criticism (good riddance). i quit movies around 2013/4. and now sports that aren't in my paid "beats" are fading away too
it's possible to have all the hobbies and consume all the culture, but that's like a second life unto itself. i pick my battles these days
