I’m with Kruse on this one. I don’t mind some additional notes to augment a recipe, but when those notes ramble like a bored toddler, I’m skipping them.

If some freelancer is getting more dough for more words on dough, I won't read it, but I'm glad they're getting paid. Now, if they're writing for exposure (to promote a restaurant, say) and weakening the market in the process...
