We are so screwed. Ohio is not a good place to be right now.

Elon Musk's Twitter wants you to think liberals are exaggerating Florida's book ban. But they aren't. The policy treats all classroom books as banned until they can be combed over by censors.

Palestinians may be banned from flying their flag under an apartheid government, but we can still proudly do it at my office. I’m proud to be a Palestinian American and I want the Palestinian people to know that not all Americans support apartheid. No one can erase our existence.

The new FDA guidance on abortion pill RX at pharmacies that aren’t repro is helpful in lowering the burden on clinics, but it isn’t applicable to many US states, including Ohio. Another barrier along the way. In the US, there should be zero barriers to health care of any kind.

And local health departments aren’t abortion providers either. It’s just ridiculous that repro/sexual health is totally inaccessible in most hospitals and private practices that aren’t repro/sexual health orgs. Your sexual health is just as important as the rest

Sexual health is such a taboo nationwide, most healthcare providers and hospitals won’t even discuss options with their patients, or they refer them to sexual health providers who then bear the entire responsibility of looking after the sexual health of their state

Abortion providers are fighting round the clock especially in states bordering ban states to provide care to people who need it. That doesn’t mean that they aren’t overwhelmed or don’t run in to roadblocks along the way because of the actions of other states governments

Remember most people don’t have much medical literacy or access to education about their health and the resources available to them. Even if they were told in advance that a clinic had closed, they might not know how to access that information (or like me don’t answer the phone)

This means quite frequently someone in a ban state has to plan an entire several days long trip for abortion care and are told in advance or find out that the provider is not available anymore once they get there.

Because repro and sexual health is so ostracized from the rest of the healthcare field, it is actually a common occurrence for clinics to abruptly close for a variety of reasons. Whether that’s legal, staffing, a lack of access to funding resources, whatever.

Remember that in many cases, abortion care is more than the elective choice that all people deserve to have, it is often medically necessary, and physicians in ban states are extremely weary of treating high risk pregnancies or can’t provide abortion care.

The untold story of leaving your home state for abortion care is that, states like New Mexico, Illinois, California are becoming overwhelmed with out of state patients and either appointments are moved or can’t be done for several weeks for these patients.

Just spoke to a client who drove from their home state 13 hours for abortion care only to find out that the clinic they were going to had suddenly closed down the day before. This is not the reality we should be living in.

1. Florida teachers are being told to remove all books from their classroom libraries OR FACE FELONY PROSECUTION
The new policy is based on the premise that teachers are using books to "groom" students or indoctrinate them with leftist ideologies.

Today, too many Arizonans see their dream slipping away. I’m running for the U.S. Senate to win it back for you!
