If more guns are supposed to make schools safer, why not allow guns in to make the NRA convention safer? They say one thing. Their actions say another. It’s skewed NRA logic that more guns make everyone safer.

Tons I’d like to say to @nra but I’ll focus today on the myth of the “good guy” with a gun. This myth assumes a dichotomy - you are either good or bad. There are definitely some people who are all bad and maybe some who are all good - but most of us are somewhere on a continuum 1

If “Good guy” means not a criminal, then most of us are good guys. But maybe, sometimes, when we are angry or drinking - the good guy veneer is thin. Maybe we have conscious or subconscious fears or biases against people that look different. Maybe we react rashly when afraid 2

Maybe societal norms encourage macho or aggressive behavior especially when challenged. Maybe the only difference on some days between guys who would otherwise be seen as “good” and people we identify as bad is access to a weapon. 3

Now I know most of us wouldn’t shoot anyone even on our worst day. But it is foolish to think the world is made up of villains and super heroes. And the idea that you can arm ordinary people, the “good” people, and that’s an answer to gun violence is naive. 4

Instead, the ready access to guns will turn people who could have lived their entire lives in the good guys category into bad guys because they were angry, hurt, scared - and had access to a gun.

Yep! When those students were invited to the WH and he had to have notes to remind himself to act like he cared about them! When are people going to learn he is narcissistic and have no feelings for absolutely anyone!

Thank you @cameron_kasky for having the courage to come out and calll @realDonaldTrump a liar. The MSM seems to have a problem using the words liar and Trump at the same time. You encourage me with your honesty and courage.
