A good thing if paired with successful completion of a civics and critical thinking curriculum. Civics classes should include study and critique of local election systems. Critical thinking to include differentiating news sources.

The 26th Amendment was passed at a time when 18 year-olds were being drafted to go to Viet Nam. No such crisis exists with 16 year-olds.

While many 16 year olds seem very astute for their age, they are not equipped with enough knowledge to make the most general of decisions. There may be 1 in 750 that could work and find lodging to care for their self, even that is a stretch. 21 & under are just as ill equipped.

That’s too young. I’m all for 18 year olds voting because we make them go to war at that age, when there’s a draft on, but 16 is too young. Even an 18-year-old’s brain is not yet fully developed and won’t be for another 7-8 years. So no. Let’s not go there.

Uh, no. Just no. Sorry, most 16 year olds are shaky behind the wheel when it comes to making good choices.
