Interesting that before the presidents comment we weren't allowed to use it in the press. The President sets a new low norm. To be able report on him we have to allow the vulgar language he uses. :(
It's much easier when you offer an alternative: #TrumpHole
Translation is very easy. "Shithole" is the opening between the chin and the nose that is specific to Republican anatomy.
Mainland Chinese press is doing fine with it though. 粪坑is the direct translation, a cesspit, so pretty close. More polite translations go to 垃圾国家, garbage countries, which is a pretty common term, used colloquially to refer pretty much to the same countries Trump meant
