Not to negate the seriousness of the melting North Pole, but never is a long time.
-
And your point?
-
I tend to question absolutes. I don’t think anyone can say for sure that the Arctic will NEVER freeze again.
-
I do that to my husband & kids. Lol!

I had to do a double take on that title, then after my shock wore off, I had to check the current average temperature across the Arctic, and it was -30 celsius. Ice freezes at 0c. So the laws of physics and chemistry would seem to be in favour of a lot of ice, rather than none.
-
Kindly note that ambient air temps & water temps are not the same thing. The ice is affected far more by the water than the air temps.

The situation has been freaking me out for years. (I hope all the science deniers are the ones to drown when sea levels rise.)

Right. Because scientists can predict the next 5 billion years of an already 5 billion year old planet.
-
Yes. It’s different from prophecy, because prediction are made using inference not imagination. Like predicting the time it takes for Pluto to orbit the sun.
