Memphis just took down two Confederate statues by cleverly outmaneuvering the state of Tennessee http://bit.ly/2zbeh2r pic.twitter.com/UyCRPuQp03

Good to see local gov score a win against an overbearing, meddlesome state gov. Proves, once again, Rs are hypocrites.

How is removing a statue honoring a traitor against the US "destroying history"?

So I guess you cannot answer to my question?

I did with the use of a direct comparison. So your position must be that ISIS destroying statues isn't destroying history. You see public statues are built to commemorate historic events and people. Much the same way a book does. Destroying the statues is much the same 1/2

No that's not my position, and we're not talking about ISIS, we're talking about Memphis. So why should Memphis, an American city maintain a statue commemorating a traitor to the USA?

Responding to a question with another question does not answer why Memphis should "commemorate" a traitor to the USA.

The point is you likely already know what is wrong with it. you claim that it is not your position that ISIS should break up statues of Buddha? Why Why does that same reasoning not apply to statues in the USA? The purpose of the analogy is to confront you with ur double standardpic.twitter.com/ARWQnV7paT

Interesting since West Tennessee was confederate but East Tennessee was Unionist. They succeeded but apparently have now succumbed.
