Nope. The gunman successfully killed or wounded over 50 people and was leaving. The ordinary citizen didn't even interrupt it.
-
How was the gunman stopped?
-
Well, from the reports I read, the shooter dropped his weapon when he left the church, and then was chased by the other guy. Lost control..
-
.. Of his vehicle, and was shot by the civilian. Which, if he was unarmed, is pretty much manslaughter at the least, but those details...
-
... depend on the autopsy. Meanwhile, real leos were on the way. Point is, no one stopped then gunman from doing what he meant to do.

There are accidental "vigilante" deaths daily, like when a kid gets home really late and Dad shoots a "burglar".

Not exactly a vigante and not exactly daily and not exactly everyone. But please, don't let reality get in the way your narrative.
