@QueenKika @MotherJones I love almonds. Didn't realize they soaked up so much water. It's a two-edged sword situation, sounds like.

@MotherJones AGAIN, why no mention meat production? It takes 660 gallons of water per 1/3 pound of beef. Cattle men got your tongue?

@outmykidsmouths @MotherJones maybe you should read before blabbing. "other foods—namely, animal products—use a whole lot more water..."

@DrSkeptical1 @MotherJones Oh, I read that little side note. No specifics. No numbers on beef. Babbling? No, keeping the conversaton honest.

@outmykidsmouths @MotherJones your claim was wrong plain & simple. & it's an article about almonds not a dissertation on agriculture.

@DrSkeptical1 @MotherJones Which happen to be demonized for water waste. It is a complex subject, just almonds are getting bad press though.

@outmykidsmouths @MotherJones beef has gotten plenty of press. People know it is costly. It's almonds they are ignorant about.

@MotherJones @RFStew meat&dairy uses vastly more water than almonds and is 100% unnecessary for the human body! Almonds are not the problem!
