In my typical over-think-things way, I'm designing a system to distribute water from the barn to 4 stalls, 2 run-in sheds, berry patch, wheat patch, pig wallow, pumpkin patch, and an orchard, using runs of buried PEX, multiple manifolds, brass ball valves, pressure reducers...

I'm not going that route right now; I'm just keeping an open mind and making sure that the system is architected in a way that allows adding it later.
