9/ There were accidental Deus ex machinas that needed reasons, there were motivations that never resolved, and on and on and on. I opened the file, started at sentence 1, deleting bits, adding bits, adding whole new paragraphs and chapters. Took 9 months. And it STILL sucked.

Each time there were LOTS of new chapters. It grew 30+ % in size each time. I was writing a new book on the skin of the corpse of the old. Yes, it was hard.
