In the last few days I have dealt with a Dunkie employee who couldn't manage to understand that I wanted cream cheese on a bagel, and a Lowes employee who couldn't understand that I'm asking how far our truck delivery is IF ALL ITEMS ARE IN STOCK. Voice recognition + AI = killer https://twitter.com/BrowningMachine/status/994606012169703424 …

True, but how much value would a law firm derive from an AI that replaces a paralegal writing a contract? How much would the higher ups love to have a free thinking AI to instantly give multiple options? Transportation is going to be the biggest sector to get clobbered by AI.

Agreed. I’m a Toolmaker, CNC machines and operators are almost ubiquitous, but you still need skilled guys who know what they’re doing, and pay them enough to keep them doing it for you.

AI over the next decade, probably two decades, will only be able to follow simple orders. The branching paths they will have to determine user wants/needs will be increasingly complex, but it'll be a while still before they reach abstract reasoning needed in high paying jobs.

Also people seem to think that 10$ employee is ONLY answering the phone. Its actually distracting them from the duties they have in the store mostly.
