Far out this thread is bringing crazy old memories back. I remember being blown away as a kid when I first heard the old-style piano tuning rather than the current one where every scale sounds equally bad.

I love to find a book that explains things like how our perception of minor keys as ‘sad’ is psychological/cultural conditioning. Or is it a feature of the human nervous system? Also, does 4/4 time dominate popular music because it is literally easy to dance to?
