Not expressly. You're just accepting Jefferson's "monarchist" propaganda about Hamilton. Also the main contemporary alternative was Jefferson's philosophy, so it's implicit.

That's fair, this was me trying to slip around the point. I am more pro Jefferson than Hamilton but for a frame of reference my preferred founders are Madison, Henry, and some of the Adams.

I was really persuaded by the Chernow biography, which I highly recommend. Beforehand I was much closer to your position.

As an aside, I would love to find out more about the Hamilton-Madison falling out, how they went from an epic collaboration on Federalist to not really on speaking terms.

Jefferson was Ken. Madison was Patrick. Clark was techcom Hamilton. Definitely the smart one and not a cowardly cunt like Jefferson.

Read the Chernow biography. Jefferson was the feckless and useless governor of Virginia during the revolution. Turned tail and abandoned Richmond like a bitch. Actually getting hands dirty was for slaves and plebes, you see.

But he was also quite a social butterfly and loved hobnobbing in Paris. No problems with social interaction there. He WAS terrible with money, and his constant indebtedness is why he hated Hamilton and "merchants" so much.
