7/ Given that the book is already 216 pages, I can't imagine that I won't hit 400 pages by the time I'm done (and maybe 600). ...and that's without the hundreds of illustrations I intend to add. ...and the essays. Hmm.

10/ If you were buying a farm book, would you want a disquisition on the National Association of Chain Manufacturers , grades of chain, how to tell them apart, the difference between a grab / choker / J / T hook, and how to use a load binder? Well, too bad. You're getting it.

Given I own a bookshelf full of farm books I'd say there's not a lot at your end of the spectrum. The older books seem more likely to get into the tech.

I'm aiming to explain all the stuff that old timers KNOW and newbs don't even know that they need to know. Right now I'm talking about chains, hooks, etc. This is second nature to any country boy ... but it was all a mystery to me 4.5 years ago!
