1/ welp, that was odd You know how I sort of fired Old Lead Farm Hand, and promoted New Lead Farm Hand? Today was his first day. Went a bit slow - had to get him up to speed on tractor, 3ph, chainsaw, chainsaw sharpening, etc. He refused to take any pay. REFUSED.

2/ Conversely, I refused to NOT pay him. We argued for 5 minutes. I finally told him that I appreciated his gesture re a slow ramp-up, but I couldn't let him do it, and I INSISTED that he take at least 1/2 pay He relented. Barely. And told me he was pissed at me for insisting
