If you desire to be married and yet are unwilling to have your marital expectations go unmet, then, you should not get married. The job of 'God' is already taken and your spouse is not him. Marriage will quickly teach you what it truly means to love someone else as God loves you.

Paradoxically, when the aim of your heart is sacrifice, you find greater joy in the GOOD things about your spouse. Because those things cease to be seen as “my due” and begin to be seen as a gift.

Perhaps bears out that love bonds are an act that can be strengthened/deepened, not merely an emotional state that descends upon or departs from us willy-nilly.
