Almost 8,000 words written over two days in my new farming book "A Human Being Should Be Able to Butcher a Pig". I expect that first draft will be done in < 1 month, and then I'll switch to working on Aristillus book 3 ("Right and Duty").

6/ it just goes on and on and on and on There is SO DAMNED MUCH I've been forced (by some a-hole named "me") to learn over the last four years. When I started this I was hoping I could hit 30,000 words for a nice pamphlet. Now I'm hoping to keep it to one volume.

I think Ring Lardner actually wrote this: “Writing is easy, you just sit down at a typewriter and open a vein.” I think that’s almost word perfect, I memorized it when I was a kid...of course, Hemingway may have said it, too.
