The gun control push seems to be probing for viability of this: "There is no longer any need to discuss gun control when all civilized people agree it works and any person who says otherwise will be kicked off the platform for attacking kids."

I'll bore followers by again observing: The Leftists of the French Revolution started out demanding "liberty, equality, fraternity" and ended up decapitating anyone not precisely agreeing with Robespierre. Leftism is Totalitarianism dolled up to be attractive until effective.
