I'm a straight white man, and there's always been plenty of things that offend me, but I have never and still do not want "trigger warnings". Why tf would anyone think I (we) would? That's a big Ideological Turing Test failure right there.

What I don't understand is if something is so triggering for you that any mention of it, no matter how sensitively it's handled, would be triggering, then wouldn't the trigger warning itself be triggering?

Stories about politicians I can handle. Seeing politicians in person is another matter. I saw Bob Dole in person a few years back and I lost my shit. In retrospect, I overreacted. At least I didn't attack him though. So I guess that's good.
