There's a steelmanned version of that question that isn't completely repugnant, something like "is there a submissive-authoritarian component driving some apparent political contradictions on the left", but also he's an asshole.

Eh, I think it's quite reasonable to suspect that many (not all) women avoid criticizing Islam bc they do like the idea of aggressive men. There is, after all, a market for romance novels, "50 Shades" books and movies, etc.

He said feminists, not just women. So presumably women who think about political things beyond sexy Arabian nights. He also said unconsciously in order to make it truly condescending.

Eh, I no more think that most feminists "think" about political things than I think that most Democrats or Republicans do. Religion, politics, etc. is largely a mood affilitiation / cultural group to most people...as annoying as that is to spergs like me.

I think we have to define what specific group of feminists we're talking about here, bc (a) motte and bailey (b) feminists in 1975 are not the same set of individuals as feminists in 2017
