2/ step 1: come home, noticed that new portion of basement (3" lower than old) is flooded. step 2: go buy the last sump pump in town

3/ step 3: realize that it needs 6" of depth to work, so it can't pump out the basement

step 4: put a garbage can on the floor, a wet/dry shop vac on a work bench, weigh down shopvac hose w brick on floor, plug in

30 gallons down - 1,000 gallons to go. Go to step 4, then step 5, then step 4, then step 5...

step 6: down to 1/2" of water...but more is coming in. Put a diamond blade in your circular saw, cut through 4" basement slab.

...except depth of cut of blade is not QUITE 4". So ... step 7: plug in rotary demolition hammer, and break through scored slab

step 8: dig under slab w hands, removing gravel to create hole to put sump pump in. step 9: plug in to test step 10: get blasted in face
