3/ Hay bale + small strips of topsoil bed. Breaks down, creates AMAZING dirt. Raise and bale my own hay, so this is affordable.

4/ I compost all kitchen scraps plus barn muck, and use this on top of the bales. Plan to also use compost to refresh raised beds

5/ have grown corn conventionally in crappy soil: heavy tillage to remove rocks, plow to furow, chem fertilizer, Han hoe. Decent results.

6/ Have had poor results w potatoes bc haven't invested time to mound them, plus also Colorado Potato Beetle.
