ah, right. Founded company in 2000, used PHP for a few years, switched to Rails & rewrote app in late 2005 a week or two after 1.0 released

I spaced on the early PHP days ; we hacked a version of Zencart, I think, then starting writing scripts in Ruby (not Rails) 2002 or 2003 ?

we loved the initial experience w Ruby. I recall that ActiveRecord existed before Rails? I think we used it - or some other ORM.

anyway, that slow changeover from PHP -> PHP + Ruby -> Rails had clouded my memory
