That's what we're doing in greenhouse (5 beds each 4' x 30'). Too expensive for fields, tho! https://twitter.com/helios_unbound/status/749633809004392449 …

Right now I've got 3,000 ft^2 under cultivation in my experimental corn/potato patch. Starting small / slow, learning. Will expand later.

Long term goals...not sure. Want to raise all feed for pigs. But land is finite. 56 acres sounds like tons, but only 16 are nice.

And of that 16 * 2 of yard * 1 of goat pasture * 1 of orchard * 6 of hay pasture * 4 of scrub forest * 1 of house, barn, GH, etc.

One idea I've got: this summer my farmhands are fencing in "road pasture". About 1 acre. Will put goats in first. >pic.twitter.com/BgfbkyD4iZ

to clear up Japanese Knotweed, small shrubs, etc. Then might subdivide ("cross fence") put pigs in 1/3, corn on other 2/3.

harvest corn, save for feed. Each year change the cross-fencing pattern so pig feces fertilizes pasture land, parasites don't build up.

Also, while the front 16 acres is starting to feel small, the back 40 is big and underutilized. There's a hilltop w a crappy pasture atop.
