that's exactly how it's done.
Except...
I don't have a thermostatically controlled furnace. So I use forge

...but forge can heat too hot, too fast. Designed for 1 temp only, not slow ramp up. Can destroy plaster.
@BrowningMachine @Alrenous next experiment: heat mold in oven at 550°F for 2 hrs to remove 100% water THEN heat in forge to bring up to temp
@BrowningMachine @Alrenous but even w/o that refinement, I consider experiment #2 to be successful (enough)
@BrowningMachine @Alrenous good thing about forge (if it works): pushes any wax residue past gasification temperature -> 100% removal
@BrowningMachine @Alrenous I think I only achieved 99% removal via "melt out" method in oven. 1% left flamed, made gas during pour.
