In csh I used to use
alias dcc 'echo "\!*" | dc '
on cmd line:
dcc 2 2 + p
@bdunbar @random_eddie in bash
or - and here's the tricky bit -
dcc 5 5 * p
See that *? should not do filename match!

@bdunbar@random_eddie so, anyway, in bash there's some way to turn wildcard expansion on and off (forget details) and I TRIED it. But -
@bdunbar@random_eddie I want to surpress it JUST for this one alias. I think I did that in csh by using the quotation marks. - Show replies
