Around 4 months ago we culled all but one rooster from our flock and put them in the freezer. Last night: chicken paprikash. Perfect.

If you think an older bird is going to be a bit rangy (bc male, or bc from a laying breed not a meat breed), then stewing is a good solution

In other news, the garden is looking EXCELLENT. Corn is exploding. Cilantro is exploding. Onions EVERYWHERE. Gourds & watermelon doing well

is to breed our own piglets, and feed pigs 365 w our own stored corn. Which means LOT of land in corn. Acres. So researching tools for that.
