2/ I don't "privilege" hate when I use logic against it any more than I "privilege" snow when I use a snow shovel against it. @nkjemisin
1/ RT @nkjemisin: I also don't like privileging hate w/reasoned discussion. Makes it seem reasonable; false equiv; etc.

3/ Logic is a tool, an intellectual force multiplier. It's worth using in ALL important fights.

@nkjemisin@JohnBarnesSF Agreed. Not all problems are solveable. But why would we ever abandon logic? Or a life preserver? -
Most times I see a call to abandon logic it is based either on laziness or the joy of othering. I reject both.

You asked "why would you apply reason and consistency to bigotry". Same reason I apply science to disease.

You also said "I also don't like privileging hate w/reasoned discussion." That's darned close to abandoning logic.

My point is what BETTER enemy to use logic against than hate? I mean, sure, use guns & cluster bombs too.

"logic usu. been put in *service* of bigotry." What? Logic discovers truth. If bigotry is wrong, silver bullet!

1/ I fail to see a coherent argument here - just "I know X when I see it, thus I choose to degrade my faculties"
@nkjemisin@JohnBarnesSF -
2/ And, again, I think we should agree to disagree. I choose to argue against bad things w logic, you don't.
