One more great Japanese corporate motto for my list: Morisawa, a Japanese type foundry, whose motto translates to "Contributing to society one word at a time." (My somewhat poetic translation; all translation is necessarily a creative act.)

Emotional labor is a thing performed everywhere, and I doubt the local convenience store clerk feels a great deal of attachment, but you'll find far more Really Means It across wider range of social classes / professions than in U.S.

Complicating that story, a lot of people's ability to perceive that gets swamped by e.g. sociolinguistic rituals like "greet every customer who walks into the shop automatically", which sometimes comes with the same depth of feeling as "Your call is very important to us."

One piece of evidence that it’s legitimate is that Japan has so many extraordinarily long-lived companies. One good proxy for being truly committed to eg improving the world by manufacturing pipes and valves is that you do it for generations, through crises, wars, etc.
