2/ first, I'm not a world-class prepper, and I don't study this stuff deeply I recommend @jonst0kes and @jcenters for a lot of good prepping content. See also websites they're associated with: https://www.unprepared.life/  andhttps://theprepared.com/

3/ LOL, I wasn't even going to, but, yes, sure, I strongly recommend my two books on homesteading, even if you don't homestead. There's tons of useful info on food storage, backup power, generators, fixing small engines, sharpening knives, etc. >>>https://twitter.com/giuseppe_aaron/status/1500146658809720837 …

Let's be clear, it will probably contain page number references to Escape the City, yes?

I get the same $ either way, so this isn't selfishness. Just much easier to read on 8"x11" paper ... and works w no electricity !

5/ so, getting to food storage: if you have a decent paying job and money in the bank, but time is tight - head to http://costco.com  or http://walmart.com  or wherever and search for "one year food", click "buy" and get it delivered. DONE.

6/ ...thought you might want to check calorie counts. A lot of prepper food is like 1500 or 2,000 calories per day, and a grown man might burn 3,000 calories per day (or 4-5k/day if working outside, doing hard labor). Remember that you may have more than 1 person in your house

7/ The nice thing about the kits is that it comes already stocked in 5 gallon pails, which stack nicely in your basement. These kits all compete on cost, so they're going to be very high carb. But, you know ... that's ok. If you need to tap into your survival food >>>

8/ keeping your keto diet going for gainzzzz is the least of your problems. You might want to supplement these kits with other stuff. Canned soups, stews, etc have decent lifespans. Think ahead to cooking - get a small campstove or two (multifuel are good).

9/ Think about all aspects of this - you'll also want to wash your dishes to prevent disease, so you'll want dish soap, sponges, etc.

11/ Here at the farm we have: * 3 freezers full of meat (yes, if we lose electricity for weeks, that all rots) * one 1-person-year-kit of 5 gallon tubs * lots of 5 gallon buckets of misc supplies (corn, unground wheat, sugar) * 30-50 gallons of pressure canned stocks & soups

12/ * a dozen restaurant shelves full of misc pantry stuff (peanut butter, ketchup, mustard, mayo, pasta, cooking oil, salt, hot sauces, canned veggies, etc etc etc etc)

          Costco has Readywise emergency bulk food, 12 days supply (2000 calories/day) for $74. That's $2/meal. Shelf-stable for 25 years. (2x a buck a plate, but worth noting.)

15/ Yes. We have a whole-house inverter, a huge pile of lead acid batteries, a tractor-PTO-driven generator. I'm working w my electrician right this week to install a big bank of photovoltaics. Tons of details on this in my books!https://twitter.com/PolybiusChamp/status/1500151581723009024 …

Have you looked into a dedicated solar/battery circuit for these? I’d imagine once old, and then opened only occasionally the overall energy load wouldn’t be too extreme and you could rotate power to use less load.
