It's weird that all the branches of China's military have "army" in their name, e.g. People's Liberation Army Navy

I always assumed it was historical the PLA was a peasant-ish army that fought a guerilla war I assume that that was the totality of their armed forces during the revolution once they win, they now have time and money to set up a navy obviously you ask the PLA to do so
