6/ please quote the tweet where I said that people "need their own forge to make tools". I don't recall saying that ... and in fact, in my books, I say the opposite.https://twitter.com/Empty_America/status/1487212553298141185 …

@Empty_America , here is a quote from my book Could you point me to the point in my thread where I said that "people need to forge their own tools"? Or, since I didn't, stop lying and apologize?pic.twitter.com/2yvKCIjvHn

8/ What have I said that's "very negative"
@ploughmansfolly ? What have I said that's blackpilled? I think that I'm realistic. I've told people that I consider homesteading fun. I've also told people that a 1/2 acre weekend garden is unrealistic.https://twitter.com/ploughmansfolly/status/1487214059082723338 …ⓘ Dogs don't have thumbs added,
William Wheelwright @ploughmansfollyReplying to @MorlockPIt’s just very negative. I raise 200 hogs a year. Also process and sell them. Yes it’s challenging but not impossible, especially after you’ve gotten past the steep learning curve. I just don’t know why you’re blackpilling. I’m in favor of encouraging people to get started.2 replies 0 retweets 23 likesShow this thread -

10/ Why aren't you letting people respond to your tweet
@ploughmansfolly ? Are you THAT worried about people talking back (or maybe even ratio-ing you?).pic.twitter.com/3niqhzkSWV

11/ Hobby farming is hard work. Butchering pigs is hard work. Having a 700 square foot garden is hard work. I tell people this, and then tell them about techniques to make it easier. ...and you're upset that I'm giving people realistic info?https://twitter.com/ploughmansfolly/status/1487214957636816898 …

William Wheelwright @ploughmansfollyReplying to @ploughmansfolly @MorlockPEveryone is already under the impression that agriculture, even on the small homestead scale, is prohibitively difficult work. And that’s certainly true at the beginning, which is the overall point of your thread. But it also gets easier with experience and establishment3 replies 0 retweets 27 likesShow this thread -

12/ > he's just trying to sell his book I am very well compensated at my job, and writing pays very little. Every time I take off from contract work to write, I lose tens of thousands of dollars. 12/ ...and thats OK! If you want to live in the city, do so. If you want 2 chickens, do so. If you want a herd of sheep and some pigs, do so. It's all fine! There's no one right answer!https://twitter.com/LadyPrusma/status/1487216706342862848?t=QIHLpdOhEhBzKr0Yj5Pzcw&s=19 …

Prusmama @LadyPrusmaReplying to @MorlockPI have also found most people *don't* want to do these things. They want a small garden to fiddle with and *maybe* a hen. Many don't seem to even want to keep up with chickens for too long. Goes without saying the majority wouldn't raise and slaughter chickens.2 replies 0 retweets 17 likesShow this thread -
13/ So far the haters have called me a grifter, a black piller, a lolbertarian, and "full of cope". Not one, though, has identified a single error in my thread.

14/ 100% agreed. Make a 25 ft^2 garden. Have fun. If you want, expand it next year.https://twitter.com/BlnsGldo/status/1487221232646991883?t=m4dvuqPN3c6Fs2OgwtDLqA&s=19 …

Bluenose Gladio @BlnsGldoReplying to @MorlockPStarting small and building up if it's within your means and skill level seems to be a better recipe for long term success than encouraging folks to dive into something they may not be able to handle. I think it's fine if the majority can only handle a vegetable garden.1 reply 0 retweets 24 likesShow this thread

Replying to @MorlockP
I think it's an apt one. I get masochistic enjoyment out of the headache my VW Rabbit gives me and I'm adamant to never spend more than $12k on a car. I like troubleshooting, but I have a gearhead friend I default to when things go beyond my means. He helps and I learn.

I don't see anything wrong with having a garden and if Joe up the road can do the full operation, then good for him. Maybe I'll get to his level or maybe I'll just trade some sweet potatoes for some bacon.
