11/ a neighbor is going to keep dairy cows what do dairy cows eat? grass how much? 1.5 - 2 acres for a cow-calf pair. If you've got 2 milking cows, you've got 2 pairs, so you need 3-4 acres MINIMUM. And yet we're going to put that on 1/2 acre.https://twitter.com/ploughmansfolly/status/1486890301218242568 …

InfoSec Coydog @NativeIndianDogReplying to @MorlockPThere’s zoning standards regarding this as well. Most areas have zones for residential/ag, and in the ag zones they usually have the specified requirements for land per animal. In my area it’s like 3 acres for the first horse and then I think and additional 1/2 acre for each add.2 replies 0 retweets 67 likesShow this thread -

16/ also, the problem with "with mechanical assistance" is that it's very hard to scale things down to 1/2 acre size I've tried to use my tractor to do work on some 1/8 acre patches on my farm and ... this means that I need like 6 implements ...for a spot that's pretty small

17/ instead of brushhogging 20 acres, taking off the implement and putting on a discer, discing 20 acres, etc. ... I'm going 100 feet, turning around, doing a 2nd pass, switching implements insane amount of overhead

Replying to @MorlockP
Relative costs of context switching is what brings economies of scale into being. Don't evict that implement from cache, still a few acres to go boys
