the best "inner work" I ever did was working very hard, paying down debts, & putting aside some savings, so that I wasn't a screaming-monkey-shit-fit-of-anxiety over the fact that I was broke and couldn't pay-the-mortgage / buy-lunch etc Maslow's hierarchy may be hippy shit but
