Unaccustomed as I am to agreeing with
@MorlockP about political matters….sheesh. What harm can the Chinese do us by owning that farmland? They can’t carry it off, we can regulate it so that they can’t ruin it, and it can be seized or commandeered in a heartbeat if necessary -
"can't carry it off" is the core of the point political power flows from the barrel of a gun, and if PRC has the ability to enforce property rights against hostile US regulation / seizure of those farms at some point ... then the game is already lost there is literally >>>

I'm very confused how it would be a violation of the Constitution? Perhaps some state constitutions but the Federal one has the Commerce Clause for interstate commerce. Seems appropriate for that to extend to foreign investors.
