4/ mechanism of cycles (intellectual, diseases, business, empire) is fascinating and I think there's commonality between them. A new thing explodes onto the scene, there are no defenses (and also no parasites / grifters), and all of its implications need to be worked out- fun!

I actually think we are in the early phases of the next one, wrt privatized space exploration. I'm growing more optimistic that we will see humans set foot on Mars on the next several years.
