idk it might work for a % of offenders, a high enough % to warrant a 'tit for two tats' legal system of course, if the % that can be rehabilitated is low, then the inevitable gaming of such a system by hardened criminals might warrant scrapping it, but the converse is true

by no means do i think that bureaucrats or, even worse, prison guards could or should try to change human nature. doesn't make it impossible for individuals to change some parts of their nature, given an environment conducive to doing so and incentive to try

Getting somebody to a point where they feel like they have a stake in society post-release is the most reliable way to reduce reoffending. So I unironically think that along with work skills and interview training we should be teaching prisoners how to date.
