1/ I agree with this diagram. I disagree with the conclusion: that it makes sense to spend a quarter of a million dollars and waste 4-5 years of one's life getting a college degree.https://twitter.com/josecamoessilva/status/1461776127349846018 …

5/ When someone walks into Home Depot and says "I'm installing a faucet, what do I need?" the salespeople do not sell him a car lift, a full set of mechanics tools, and a surveyor's transit "...because you might need 10% of it someday".https://twitter.com/josecamoessilva/status/1461778991581442062 …
6/ I went to a small (~ 80 kids/year) Catholic high school. It was ... fine.https://twitter.com/edwardcossette/status/1461779333924724737 …
7/ yeah, I guess, I kinda hated all of it there's a micro-subgenre in SF of "you die...and wake up in your 16 yo body back in 1983" (Replay by Grimwood, Rewrite by Benford) and when I ponder that scenario I always think "how can I get a job ASAP?"https://twitter.com/Isegoria/status/1461779583305461761 …
8/ I hate schooling so much because it has always interfered with my education
One reason I never finished my degree is when I had to transfer and then suddenly 1) we had to squeeze all my Latin and classics credits into a history degree and 2) I didn’t have the correct Gen Ed requirements for the new school
So while I had almost enough 300-400 level hours for a degree, I didn’t have all the random required history survey classes, and they wanted me to take freshman courses and stuff like art history 101
Is the swim test really still a graduation requirement? I thought most schools had gotten rid of the requirement for a swim test (a mistake in my opinion...)
