      the word "comprador" was impenetrable to me , but .. what else in there was jargon ? every single world besides that seems really obvious to someone (me) with no philosophical / polisci / etc background

          the use of a verb phrase as the indirect object of another verb phrase (``their authority is grounded in intellectual credentialing'') is something that is almost always unnecessary in ordinary speech but is beloved in academese
