3/ Cordwood building is bad because wood is a bad insulator. When I go outside my farmhouse on a chilly morning the house is covered with a layer of frost ... except for vertical stripes spaced 16" apart. What's going on? Insulation keeps heat inside the house; wood bridges.

4/ All of the heat I'm paying for (whether I'm heating in a given winter with oil purchased for cash or firewood purchased with sweat) is leaking out through the places where solid wood connects the inside and the outside of a house. ...now build an ENTIRE HOUSE that way.

5/ > If I was frail or elderly this would be my build. Since WoG is neither frail nor elderly (one presumes), I'm curious what actual technology he used to build his home. (At a guess, he lives in a standard-built apartment and just wanks online.)

6/ eh...it uses a ton of materials for no good purpose. If I had a bunch of free trees (as I do) and wanted to build an outbuilding from materials on hand, I'd get an "Alaskan chainsaw mill" for $250 or something and just make my own lumber.https://twitter.com/basementwatcher/status/1460606420760645635 …
