A few weeks back I bought a chainsaw to deal with some branches which broke off a front yard tree. While working on it, I noticed my neighbor's tree had a dead branch which was ready to come down on my minivan.

So I offered to help them out with it. Took down the branch today and turned it into firewood. I think between that and the backyard chickens I'm now officially the Redneck Neighbor in their eyes. Which has to be tremendously amusing for all the actual rednecks who've met me.

My maternal grandfather lived in Virginia. One fine day he visited a neighbor who had a farm. Neighbor was upset that the recent storm had toppled a tree, and it would be expensive to hire someone to remove it. 1/
